The Kaliakra cape is 12 km east of Kavarna and 60 km in northeast of Varna. It is the most beautiful and the strangest place in the Bulgarian northern Black Sea. The narrow rocky peninsula is cutting 2 km into the sea as a wedge and this promontory ends with 70 m high vertical rocks. They are conglomerates, formed in the previous shallow sarmatian sea. Ferrous oxides give to the cape a crimson color. It is compared to a blazing sward, cutting the greenish-blue waters of the sea, and the vertical sides make it impressive and inapproachable. Its name – Kaliakra –means "a beautiful cape".
The natural landmark of Slona (The Elephant) is situated on the Shiroka laka riverside, in the Rhodopes, and is 4 km of the Devin town, near to the village of Nestan.

It represents a rock formation, bearing a striking resemblance to an elephant. The rock ends in a hard rock column, resembling an elephant`s trunk. The hole is 3m wide and 3 m high and probably it was a cave entrance in the past.Srebarna - It is a biosphere reserve, including both the Srebarna Lake and the area around it. Srebarna is situated near to the village of Srebarna and is 15 km west of the town of Silistra. The depth of the lake reaches 3 m and it is reedy. It is the breeding ground of 67 species of higher plants, 39 mammal, 21 reptile and about 10 fish species. Srebarna is a real paradise for bird dabblers with over 100 types of natant birds such as pelicans, swans, mallards, glossy ibis, spoonbills, wild geese, wild ducks, etc.
